The lukewarm church of Laodicea is the seventh and last church mentioned in the book of Revelation. It is the final church to exist on earth before the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
To the lukewarm church of Laodicea…
For those who have an ear to hear what the Spirit of the Lord has given me for this time: American Christians (as a group) have had their chance to tell the world of the awesome character and of the great love that Jesus has for the world.
As it is written in the book of Revelation, the time has come for God to vomit us out of His mouth (Revelation 3:16) This verse is written for our admonition, to whom the ends of the world have come.
That the churches of God have become offensive to the living Creator may not be apparent to all. As in the times of Isaiah the prophet, we dwell in a land of worshippers who have unclean lips.
The Spirit of God has chosen to ruin this world for me so that I may obtain something better.
As it is written in Isaiah it is very uncomfortable for Isaiah to discover as he is worshipping with other “Christians” at the time, that he and his church are no longer connected with this living God but serving a statue of God that is of their own creation.
“I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.” Isaiah 6:5
When Isaiah sees a vision that few have seen of the throne of God the Father and His majesty, he is crushed with the amazing discrepancy between the holiness of God and the worship of God’s own people.
After Isaiah’s vision, the nation of Israel suffered greatly at the hands of a foreign power. Their children were carried off to serve another nation.
There is only ONE cure for sin: Jesus Christ
There is only one cure for sin: Jesus Christ. He is chosen by God the Father to die for us because of how horrible sin is to a Holy God. That is what Isaiah saw and what I have seen.
There is comfort and promise in these verses as well: God will make for Himself a people who can and will serve Him in Spirit and in truth: a remnant of His people is saved by Him or else we would all be deceived and lost.
These people will be given power in this dark time to guide, even as prophets were risen by God in times of old to guide.
There remains yet an exodus and a rest for God’s people.
To the lukewarm church of Laodicea, God bids: “come out of her my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye be not partakers of her plagues.” Revelation 18:4
“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.” Joel 2:28, Acts 2:17
We will be equipped and given what we need for this time, have faith and courage in whom you have first believed.
